Giving

Giving is an integral part of our relationship with God. Through giving we acknowledge the Lord as the provider of everything we have. It demonstrates our trust that He will provide for us and it is a way to honor what He has given us.

What We Believe About Giving

Giving to The Compass allows you to make an impact in God's kingdom here, near, and far — in the western suburbs and around the globe. If you are new to The Compass, or just starting to explore the claims of Christianity, please feel free to let the offering plate pass you by.

For those of us who call The Compass our church home, and as New Testament believers, we worship the Lord with our tithe. As Christ Followers, we believe that we should be good stewards of God's resources because He is the owner of all that we have. Throughout scripture, we are reminded of the importance of giving back a portion of what God has so generously provided. His Word tells us that our giving is an act of worship that should be done with an attitude of thanksgiving.

 "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse that there may be food in my house." ~ (Malachi 3:10-11)

 "The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it." ~ ((Psalm 24:1))

 "Honor God with everything you own; give him the first and the best." ~ (Proverbs 3:)

What happens to the money we give?

God provides for the ministry of The Compass Church through your tithes and offerings. We honor your gifts with faithful stewardship, ethical business practices, and full accountability so that the financial integrity of The Compass Church remains beyond reproach. How can I give to The Compass Church?

As a convenience for those who call The Compass Church their home, we provide several opportunities to give to God's work through your tithes and offerings.

1. You can give by check or cash when the offering is taken during a service
2. You can mail a check to our offices 
3. You can give online by going to www.thecompass.net/giving 
4. You can have an automatic draft set up with your bank - Download the Direct Deposit Form as well as additional information.
5. You can use one of our addressed envelopes for the mailing of tithes and offerings 
6. You can set up secure online giving. *

(*Please know that the online giving does not make a distinction regarding a debit card or a credit card. We do strongly suggest that no one use a credit card unless it is paid off every month. The Bible speaks in Proverbs 22:7 about “…the borrower [being] servant to the lender.” We do not wish our congregation to go into debt by tithing on a credit card.)
