This is your child's last year in CompassKids and we want to make it their best! The transition from Children's Ministry to Junior High Ministry is critically important because those are the years when youth either own their faith, or sadly choose to leave it behind. This is why we must focus on building into our 5th Graders. By working together, this year can be filled with opportunities for your child to grow spiritually, develop strong friendships, and ultimately transition smoothly into our Junior High Ministry this Spring. We are planning Bible Studies, Serving Events, Fun Outings, a Winter Overnight Retreat, a Spring 2-Day Retreat, and even an Epic Nerf War in May. You will want to prioritize these opportunities and look for ways to get involved. As your child grows there are less opportunities for you to do things together. Since we are always looking for parent chaperones and leaders, this is a great chance to make memories together.

This 4-week study will teach kids how to think, not just what to think. Just because somebody says something doesn’t make it true. So how do you know what to believe? Your kids will develop the skills needed to investigate the evidence of God’s existence. We will discover logical thinking skills as we examine the vast universe and the contents of a mysterious box. Ultimately, kids will learn how to make their own case for God’s existence. We will be studying the book, God’s Crime Scene for Kids by J. Warner and Susie Wallace. J. Warner is a cold-case homicide detective who has been featured on Dateline, FOX News, Court TV and other crime related television shows. COST: $10

Start off the new year by helping your 5th Graders learn how to think, not just what to think. Just because somebody on YouTube says something doesn’t make it true. So how do you know what to believe? We will be learning to test witnesses, take case notes, examine the evidence, and dive into the most important case of all: the case for Jesus! We will be studying the book, Cold-Case Christianity for Kids by J. Warner and Susie Wallace. J. Warner is a cold-case homicide detective who has been featured on Dateline, FOX News, Court TV and other crime related television shows. COST: $10
