We exist to join parents on the journey of raising kids To Love Him More, So More Love Him.
We believe that the church was never intended to raise up spiritual champions — parents were! Paul wrote about the responsibility of the church in Ephesians 4:12. He said... "Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do His work and build up the church, the body of Christ." - Ephesians 4:12 (NLT)
In addition to this, the church simply does not have the influence needed to make a lasting impact on children. Parents are the primary influencers of their children. The church has maybe 40 hours a year with children while their parents have over 3,000 hours. For this reason, our ministry purpose is to leverage our expertise in ministry through a strategic partnership with parents!
To become a transformational Children's Ministry that God uses to raise up a generation that takes the hope of the gospel here, near, and far.
Our prayer is that God shapes us into a ministry that focuses on life transformation. Paul wrote down in Romans 12:2 the goal for all Christians no matter their age..."Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect." - Romans 12:2 (NLT)
Children are not too young to experience God. As they grow physically, they should also be growing spiritually. Our vision is to see God transform a generation of kids into spiritual champions. The exciting reality is we are invited to participate in that vision.
We will never see God use us unless we fully submit to His leadership. We pray that God shapes us into faithful servants that honor Him above all else. Like Paul, our hearts are filled with gratitude to God for the incredible opportunity to serve Him.
"I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength to do His work. He considered me trustworthy and appointed me to serve Him." –1 Timothy 1:12 (NLT)
We are Safe & Secure (We will protect our children from harm)
We are Biblically Grounded (We love God and His word and teach from the Bible)
We are Child Friendly (We will be most effective as a ministry when we engage children and then teach them in ways they actually enjoy)
We are Family Focused (The more we involve parents in communicating our message, the more effective we will be at passing on our faith )
We are Relationally Connected (We love & support one another)
We are Livin' It! (We live what we teach as role models for kids)
At The Compass Church, we LOVE kids! We've designed a fun, engaging, and faith-forming environment just for them! Children, infants through 5th grade, will experience God's truth and love at our three identical services every weekend. We want kids to be so excited about the lessons and friendships here that they actually drag you to church!
All of our classrooms teach the Bible in chronological order each year so children can clearly see God's big plan of redemption through every story. Everything we do is intended to help your child’s faith grow. We are using The Gospel Project curriculum from LifeWay. Not only will kids encounter the gospel in every lesson, but they are immersed in the foundations of the Christian faith.
We walk through every story from Genesis through Revelation in a three-year rotation. Of course we jump ahead to the Christmas and Easter stories during those seasons. The goal is for children to understand that the Bible is not just a collection of stories, but God’s unified love story with people. His great love is demonstrated most clearly through Jesus who was sent to rescue us through the cross.
All CompassKids volunteers in the classrooms must clearly display their badge when volunteering in our program. All volunteers are required to complete the following before they are able to serve with CompassKids:
• State background check.
• Two approved reference checks.
• Volunteer training on our mission, vision, and values, as well as our policies and procedures.
• Read through our CompassKids Team Member Handbook and sign a covenant agreeing to follow all guidelines and expectations.
• Read through our Protection Training Manual and sign a covenant agreeing to abide by all safety policies.
Our CompassKids volunteer team is carefully screened. In addition, we have a Never Alone Policy that is strictly enforced. No one in our ministry is ever alone with children. We also have video cameras installed in every classroom so that we can keep eyes on your children at all times.
Our volunteer team realizes that they are expected to be a
good role model for all children. The goal is to develop healthy friendships where children see a living example of someone who teaches them about Jesus and also is living out the Christian faith.
When you arrive, please come to one of our CompassKids Check In Stations. You'll be greeted by one of our New Family Hosts who will walk you through the quick and easy registration process. They will be happy to answer any questions you have and escort you and your children to their classrooms. Each child must be registered into our system and wear a tag before they can enter into our care. The corresponding parent tag is required for picking up your child for security purposes. You can also save time at check in and pre-register your child(ren).
If your child (birth-5th grade) is a little wiggly or you just want to stay together as a family while you check out our church, we have a space available for you! There are a few toys provided for younger children, and you can watch the service through a live-feed television in the room.
