Midland, MI Team
This May in Midland, MI the town experienced an incredible disaster as two dams broke and flooded the entire town. Two EFCA churches that are located in Midland, in partnership with EFCA Crisis Response, are helping families affected by the disaster. The church has identified approximately 80 local families who are in need of home repairs. They have been coming alongside families from both the church and the community during this time. Our team will be working a lot with drywalling, specifically mudding and taping. The church has team leaders who will work with the team to equip and work alongside the team. The model of Crisis Response is also to provide care for the family, so there will also be opportunities to talk and pray with the homeowners. Team members need to be ready to work hard and be flexible, but no specific skills are required.
Dates: leaving either November 18 or 19 (evening) and returning November 22 after church. The church is able to put team members in host homes if desired. Otherwise there are local hotels. Meals will be provided by the church.
Costs: The team members will have minimal costs; mostly including meals during travel and hotel if desired.
