You will receive a tax deduction for the fair market value of your securities at the time of donation, and you will pay no capital gains tax on the difference between your cost and the fair market value.

Your gift will be acknowledged on your contribution statement. You are responsible for valuing these gifts following the guidelines of IRS Publication 561. You can find those HERE.

The benefits and process for giving marketable securities (stocks, mutual funds, etc.)
If you would like to donate from your Donor Advised Fund (DAF), please ask your DAF representative to mail your donation to: The Compass Church, Attn: Finance Department, 2244 W. 95th Street, Suite 300, Naperville, IL 60564
Also, have your DAF representative include: your name and the fund to which you would like your gift applied:

If you are at least 70 1⁄2, you can make a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) from your IRA to The Compass Church (and any other qualified charities) without adding a penny to your taxable income. If you are 72 or above, the amount you decide to give will typically count toward your required minimum distribution (up to $100,000).
