DuPage Correctional Center/JUST of DuPage

JUST of DuPage is a nonprofit organization housed inside the DuPage County Correctional Center (DCCC). JUST provides rehabilitation programming to the detainees of the DCCC through a comprehensive and holistic approach. The Compass Church partners with JUST on three initiatives:

Storybook Program.  Parents select a children's book to be read out loud to their child/ren, which is then recorded into an audio file and mailed to the family along with the book and an invitation to The Compass Church. This program is key in helping parents stay connected to their family during incarceration.  

Gift Bags. Each Christmas and Easter, volunteers assemble and distribute gift bags to the family of the incarcerated for the children. The bags contain craft items, a coloring book, candy and a bible story book. Our volunteer teams meet with the family members to offer encouragement, pray and an invitation to The Compass. 

The Purpose Driven Life. Volunteer facilitators  from our church meet weekly with inmates (men and women) to study "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren. Books and study materials are provided to the inmates by our church, and several inmates have come to know Christ or deepen their faith as a result of this course.
