Affirming Life is a ministry that helps equip our church to come alongside women facing unexpected pregnancy, moms and dads who’ve chosen to keep their babies, and those experiencing ongoing guilt or grief from a past abortion. We work closely with two agencies in our community that advocate for abortion-minded women: Caring Network and the Evangelical Child & Family Agency (ECFA).
CURRENT SERVING OPPORTUNITIES
Pray: Commit to praying for this vital ministry. Use the "Affirming Life Prayer Card" HERE as a guide, or join the Prayer Team at Caring Network by emailing volunteer@caringnetwork.com.
Mentoring or "Connections": Individuals or a small group can provide relational support or spiritual mentoring for women by working through either Caring Network or ECFA. Email Caring Network at volunteer@caringnetwork.com or faith@evancfa.org for more information. Support can also include hosting a baby shower.
Post-Abortion Ministry: If you have a heart for women who have experienced an abortion, prayerfully consider becoming a co-leader of Restore, Caring Network’s post-abortion care ministry. Leaders must participate in comprehensive training and will be assigned as a co-leader to a group or as a 1:1 mentor on an as-needed basis. For more info, email care@RestoreAfterAbortion.com.
Diaper Driver: Moms with babies need lots of diapers, and so we need volunteers willing to use their van or large SUV to pick up diapers from a disclosed location in Waukegan and transport them to ECFA’s Wheaton office once a month. For more info or to volunteer, email faith@evancfa.org.
Agency Volunteer: Serve as a volunteer receptionist at a local crisis pregnancy center or by helping with fundraising events, assisting with office projects, cleaning, & more. Email either Caring Network at volunteer@caringnetwork.com or ECFA at mail@evancfa.org.
